He was my dad's dad (that three year old he didn't want to pay support for). My dad never had anything to do with him and Art never reached out either. It seems clear that his alcoholism was his downfall. He had a dark side that's for sure! I feel horrible for that lady whose husband died from the brain injury-what was he thinking? I remember him telling me stories as a child about Art "The Great, What a Man" Shires. Apparently all of the Shires boys were great athletes, Art's personality got him some breaks the others did'nt.
