\"Rene<\/a>Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez fue uno de esos peloteros que se encargo de \u00e2\u20ac\u0153aterrorizar\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a todas las ligas del Caribe donde jugo en las d\u00c3\u00a9cadas de los 40 y 50tas. Sin temor a equivocarnos podemos decir que el \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Gigante\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cubano ha sido uno de los mas poderosos que ha salido de la \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Perla Antillana\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

En la temporada 50-51 de la liga profesional de Venezuela, Gonzalez es contratado por el equipo \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Venezuela\u00e2\u20ac\u009d del conocido comerciante y promotor deportivo Jose Antonio Yanez (Yanesito), quien trajo tambi\u00c3\u00a9n a sus compatriotas Carlos Colas (receptor),Juan Noble,Martimon Garay y los lanzadores Santiago Ulrich y Anibal Navarrete (El Satchel Paige Cubano).<\/p>\n

Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez se convierte de inmediato en la sensacion del campeonato gracias a sus potentes batazos y capacidad de traer corredores a la goma.<\/p>\n

La mejor actuaci\u00c3\u00b3n del \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Gigante\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cubano fue un domingo 28 de enero de 1951,ese d\u00c3\u00ada batea de 4-4 e impulsa 4 carreras,conecta su d\u00c3\u00a9cimo jonr\u00c3\u00b3n empatando con Frank Mancuso el liderato de cuadrangulares de dicho torneo.<\/p>\n

Esa temporada Gonzalez establece un nuevo record para la \u00c3\u00a9poca con 57 carreras producidas para home y queda campe\u00c3\u00b3n jonronero empatando con Mancuso. Gran debut y actuaci\u00c3\u00b3n de Rene Gonzalez en Venezuela.<\/p>\n

El 6 de diciembre de 1950 es testigo de la extraordinaria actuaci\u00c3\u00b3n de su compatriota Carlos \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Suset\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Colas en el estadio del Cervecer\u00c3\u00ada Caracas (nocturno). Colas batea tres triple en un juego y Gonzalez ese d\u00c3\u00ada alinea de cuarto bate y precede a Colas en la alineaci\u00c3\u00b3n. Ese juego fue contra el equipo \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Vargas\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

A pesar de la falta de documentacion sobre el b\u00c3\u00a9isbol rom\u00c3\u00a1ntico de esa \u00c3\u00a9poca en especial, esto es lo que conseguimos sobre Rene Gonzalez, esperemos que sea del gusto y del agrado de los fan\u00c3\u00a1ticos del viejo b\u00c3\u00a9isbol:<\/p>\n

Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez fue uno de los m\u00c3\u00a1ximos exponentes cubanos. En la Liga Mexicana aparece entre los mejores bateadores de todos los tiempos con .328 de porcentaje. Durante nueve temporadas tuvo una brillant\u00c3\u00adsima actuaci\u00c3\u00b3n en el circuito veraniego, con ocho de ellas superando los .300 de porcentaje.<\/p>\n

Su llegada al beisbol mexicano se dio en 1947 para vestirse el uniforme de los Tuneros de San Luis, pero su consagraci\u00c3\u00b3n se dio en 1951 conquistando el liderato de producidas con 79 compa\u00c3\u00b1eros remolcados al plato. Posteriormente tuvo una racha sensacional al ganar el t\u00c3\u00adtulo de bateo por tres a\u00c3\u00b1os consecutivos, vistiendo el uniforme del Aguila.<\/p>\n

En 1952 tuvo una temporada estupenda haci\u00c3\u00a9ndose acreedor a la triple corona de bateo con el equipo veracruzano. Sus cifras incluyeron .370 de porcentaje con 21 cuadrangulares y 84 carreras impulsadas. Todav\u00c3\u00ada se dio tiempo para obtener otros dos lideratos a la ofensiva. En 1953 fue campe\u00c3\u00b3n productor con 63 remisiones al pent\u00c3\u00a1gono y al a\u00c3\u00b1o siguiente obtuvo el cetro jonronero con 21 ca\u00c3\u00b1onazos a la tierra de nadie. El afamado inicialista fue inmortalizado en 1993 y es uno de los \u00c3\u00addolos legendarios de la pelota Mexicana.<\/p>\n

El lnicialista cubano que destac\u00c3\u00b3 en el beisbol azteca jugando nueve temporadas en el circuito de verano y dos en la Costa del Pac\u00c3\u00adfico. Se caracteriz\u00c3\u00b3 por su gran poder con el bate y por ello se convirti\u00c3\u00b3 en \u00c3\u00addolo de la fanaticada en todos los clubes con los que aline\u00c3\u00b3.<\/p>\n

En 1947 se inici\u00c3\u00b3 en la Liga Mexicana con los Tuneros de San Luis y a media temporada lo contrat\u00c3\u00b3 el Veracruz.<\/p>\n

Al a\u00c3\u00b1o siguiente jug\u00c3\u00b3 con los Alijadores de Tampico y los Rojos del M\u00c3\u00a9xico, donde sigui\u00c3\u00b3 demostrando su poder a la ofensiva. En 1949 volvi\u00c3\u00b3 al San Luis y sigui\u00c3\u00b3 imponente con el tolete bateando para .357.<\/p>\n

Las temporadas de 1952, 53 y 54, jugando con el \u00c3\u0081guila de Veracruz fueron las de su consagraci\u00c3\u00b3n, al haber logrado en forma consecutiva los campeonatos de bateo de la Liga Mexicana y en 1952 la triple corona.<\/p>\n

Ocho de las nueve temporadas que jug\u00c3\u00b3 en el verano bate\u00c3\u00b3 arriba de .300, fallando \u00c3\u00banicamente en 1956, cuando particip\u00c3\u00b3 con los equipos Nuevo Laredo y Monterrey, consiguiendo solamente .257.<\/p>\n

En el libro de r\u00c3\u00a9cords aparece con 956 hits conectados, con 170 dobles, 131 cuadrangulares y .328 de bateo global.<\/p>\n

En el circuito de invierno jug\u00c3\u00b3 la temporada 1953-54 bajo las \u00c3\u00b3rdenes del inmortal Melo Almada, con el equipo de Navojoa. Al a\u00c3\u00b1o siguiente empieza nuevamente con los Mayos y termina con Tomateros de Culiac\u00c3\u00a1n.<\/p>\n

Estos fueron sus n\u00c3\u00bameros: 153 juegos, 591 veces al bate, 188 hits, promediando .314 como porcentaje de bateo en su primer a\u00c3\u00b1o y .323 en el segundo. Retirado del beisbol se fue a su natal Cuba, donde los \u00c3\u00baltimos a\u00c3\u00b1os de su vida estuvo rodeado de familiares y amigos.<\/p>\n

Uno de los momentos raros y emocionantes en la historia del b\u00c3\u00a9isbol mexicano aconteci\u00c3\u00b3 el 10 de agosto de 1951, con Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez recibiendo base intencional con la casa llena.<\/p>\n

El especial momento tuvo como escenario el parque Delta de la ciudad de M\u00c3\u00a9xico, en un encuentro nocturno entre los Azules del Veracruz que comandaba el magnate Jorge Pasquel y los Tuneros de San Luis, donde jugaba el espectacular cubano.<\/p>\n

La temporada fue dividida en dos mitades y los Tuneros ya hab\u00c3\u00adan ganado la primera de ellas, por su parte, los Azules peleaban arduamente en la segunda mitad tratando destronar a los Algodoneros del Uni\u00c3\u00b3n Laguna que punteaban la liga.<\/p>\n

El duelo tuvo frente a frente a dos estupendos lanzadores. Por Los Tuneros subi\u00c3\u00b3 al cerrito Francisco \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Panchillo\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Ram\u00c3\u00adrez, para enfrentar al norteamericano Rufus Lewis, que lanzaba por los Azules.<\/p>\n

Estos se hab\u00c3\u00adan puesto arriba en el marcador con cuadrangular y sencillo impulsador del sonorense Angel Castro y para la cuarta entrada Panchillo era explotado del mont\u00c3\u00adculo con dos carreras.<\/p>\n

Una de ellas gracias a un toque perfecto de squezze play, realizado por Felipe \u00e2\u20ac\u0153La Mu\u00c3\u00b1eca\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Iturralde<\/p>\n

Los Azules ampliaron su ventaja en la sexta entrada con un rallie de cuatro carreras, despeg\u00c3\u00a1ndose en el marcador 8-0.<\/p>\n

Alejandro Crespo y Pat Scantlebury conectaron imparables impulsadores aumentando la diferencia.<\/p>\n

San Luis se acerc\u00c3\u00b3 8-1 en la octava entrada, entrando a relevar Juan \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Bibi\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Crespo, en lugar de Lewis, a quien le hab\u00c3\u00adan llenado la casa<\/p>\n

El gigantesco cubano Ren\u00c3\u00a9 Gonz\u00c3\u00a1lez hizo su aparici\u00c3\u00b3n en el pent\u00c3\u00a1gono para enfrentar a Crespo y fue entonces cuando el manager Jorge Pasquel orden\u00c3\u00b3 base por bolas intencional a pesar de tener el lunetario completo.<\/p>\n

El controvertido magnate decidi\u00c3\u00b3 regalarle una carrera de \u00e2\u20ac\u0153caballito\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a los Tuneros, evitando un mayor acercamiento en caso de recibir un jonr\u00c3\u00b3n con la casa llena.<\/p>\n

El catcher Ram\u00c3\u00b3n Braga\u00c3\u00b1a mir\u00c3\u00b3 varias veces a la caseta, pero el coach Angel Abreu sali\u00c3\u00b3 al terreno para ratificarles que Pasquel quer\u00c3\u00ada una base internacional con la casa llena.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Incre\u00c3\u00adble\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, dijo Bibi Crespo, el lanzador, pero Braga\u00c3\u00b1a lo inst\u00c3\u00b3 a cumplir la orden para no desatar la furia de Pasquel.<\/p>\n

Hizo su debut en las Ligas negras en 1950, donde apareci\u00c3\u00b3 en una sola temporada para Los New York Cubans, fue un consistente bateador de 300 . Jugo en Cuba, Venezuela ,Nicaragua, aseries del Caribe, EE.UU hasta 1958.<\/p>\n

Naci\u00c3\u00b3 el 6 de octubre de 1923 y falleci\u00c3\u00b3 en su querida Cuba el 9 de mayo de 1982.<\/p>\n
