A two-time All-American at Florida Southern College from 1969-70, Greg Pryor became the first FSC Moccasin to make it to the major leagues when he debuted for the Texas Rangers on June 4, 1976. Pryor was a sixth round draft pick of the Washington Senators in 1971 and spent parts of six seasons in the minors before being called up to the bigs.<\/p>\n
He spent most of his time with the Kansas City Royals, playing third, second and first base, shortstop and designated hitter from 1982-1986, and earning a World Series ring in 1985. But he had more plate appearances with the Chicago White Sox, playing virtually the same positions with them from 1978-1981.<\/p>\n
He retired at age 36 in 1986 with a .250 career average but played four positions well, and is a member of the FSC Hall of Fame. His number 17 has also been retired by the school after he batted .333 from 1968-1971.<\/p>\n
