English Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n About three years ago I got an email from SABR where they asked for fans willing to write some anecdote about the magnificent Pittsburgh Pirates manager, Danny Murtaugh. The story had to be related to the writer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s life to give it more interest.<\/p>\n Colleen Hroncich, Murtaugh\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s granddaughter had decided to write a biography about her Grandfather. She wanted to dedicate a section to the fans\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 memories about Danny Murtaugh.<\/p>\n I liked the proposal because it was the chance to put on paper many moments of my life when I listened to the ballgames through the radio or watched them on TV. In a lot of those games appeared the Pittsburgh Pirates, Roberto Clemente and Danny Murtaugh. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why I answered the note offering an anecdote. Colleen enjoyed my story and told me that she was going to include the text in the book.<\/p>\n The process of writing, correcting, sponsoring, diagramming and printing a book, generally takes a long time. Murtaugh leads his team to its first World Series since 1927, when they lost in four against the Yankees. This time the Pirates beat the Bronx Bombers against all odds.<\/p>\n Chapter eight. The Pirates have difficult moments in the 1961 season due to the injuries of their starting pitchers. They finished in the sixth place.<\/p>\n Chapter Nine: Murtaugh is forced to resign as the Pirates manager after the 1964 season, because of heart troubles. He takes a job as GM Joe Brown\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s superscout and troubleshooter.<\/p>\n Chapter Ten. Danny leads the Pirates to their second title of World Series in 12 years, by beating the Baltimore Orioles in 1971. On September 1st that year he fields the first- ever minority line up in MLB.<\/p>\n Chapter eleven. After the end of every season Murtaugh traveled to Chester PA, to share with his family.<\/p>\n Chapter twelve. The skipper returns. After being absent for the 1972 season, Murtaugh comes back in 1973 to manage the Pirates for the fourth and last time. . He led the team to first place finishes in the NL East Division in 1974 and 1975. He retired at the end of the 1976 season to spend more time with his family.<\/p>\n Chapter thirteen.
