Boston Red Sox catcher Roger LaFrancois spent only eight games at the Major League level but made the most of it, batting .400 with a double, a run, and an RBI in 10 at-bats in 1982.\u00c2\u00a0 Drafted by Boston in the eighth round of the 1977 amateur draft, LaFrancois spent most of his nine professional seasons in the Red Sox organization, peaking in 1980 when he hit .256 with 12 homers and 57 RBIs between Bristol and Pawtucket.\u00c2\u00a0 He ended his career in 1985 as a member of the Braves organization, then got into coaching and managing.<\/p>\n
He led the Class-A Jamestown Expos to a second-place finish in 1988, and has managed and coached in the Mets, White Sox and Cardinals organizations.<\/p>\n
