Mariner history and first AL pitcher in 37 years to hit a grand slam in their 5-2 win against the Mets on Monday.\u00c2\u00a0 Hernandez was the first pitcher to hit a grand slam since <strong>Dontrelle Willis<\/strong> did it on July 7, 2006 as a Florida Marlin against the Mets at Shea Stadium, also.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Late to the Party<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Behind <strong>Tom Gorzelanny<\/strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s six-inning, three run effort on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Pirates finally joined every other team in baseball to earn a regular season win against the New York Yankees.\u00c2\u00a0 It was their first win in seven tries against the Bronx Bombers.\u00c2\u00a0 The Pirates won 12-5.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>According to Elias I<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Cincinnati\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Bronson Arroyo <\/strong>became the sixth pitcher in Major League history to give up at least 10 earned runs while recording no more than three outs on Tuesday.\u00c2\u00a0 According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last pitcher to accomplish the feat was Houston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Jason Jennings <\/strong>on July 29, 2007 against the San Diego Padres.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sitting One Out<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>New York\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>David Wright <\/strong>finally received a day off after playing every inning of their first 75 games.\u00c2\u00a0 Manager <strong>Jerry Manuel <\/strong>felt Wright need a day off and sat him on Tuesday in their 11-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pacing Himself<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>On Wednesday, <strong>Bobby Abreu <\/strong>of the Yankees went 3-for-5 with his a home run, two runs and four RBI in their 10-0 win over the Pirates.\u00c2\u00a0 Abreu had 10 HRs and 50 RBI at the end of the game and added two steals over the weekend to get to 11 steals.\u00c2\u00a0 He became the 10<sup>th<\/sup> player in Major League history to record at least 10 HRs, 50 RBI and 10 steals in at least 11 seasons &#8212; a list that includes teammates <strong>Derek Jeter <\/strong>and <strong>Alex Rodriguez<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 If Abreu continues his pace, he will become the second player in baseball history to record at least 15 HRs, 100 RBI and 20 steals in at least seven seasons joining <strong>Barry Bonds <\/strong>who accomplished the feat eight times.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>According to Elias II<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>When Arizona\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Randy Johnson <\/strong>faced off against Boston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Tim Wakefield <\/strong>on Wednesday, the combination became the oldest combination to ever start a game at Fenway Park.\u00c2\u00a0 According to the Elias Sports Bureau, their combined age of 86 years and 252 days was the oldest to ever start a game at Fenway.\u00c2\u00a0 Wakefield pitched seven shutout innings and the Red Sox won 5-0.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Family Affair<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Washington\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Aaron Boone <\/strong>joined three family members when he recorded his 1000<sup>th<\/sup> hit of his career on Wednesday.\u00c2\u00a0 His brother Bret recorded 1,775 hits, his father Bob professional start without a win on Thursday.\u00c2\u00a0 The streak dates back to his time with Triple-A Jacksonville where he last posted a win back in August \u00e2\u20ac\u212207.\u00c2\u00a0 In \u00e2\u20ac\u212208 Yankees debut and pitched six scoreless innings in their 5-1 win over the Mets.\u00c2\u00a0 Ponson was made available after the Rangers expelled him for off-the-field
