divisional title, currently leading by six games in the <strong>American Association\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Southern Division<\/strong> although the <strong>York (PA) Revolution <\/strong>have nailed down no less than a tie in the <strong>Atlantic League\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Freedom Division <\/strong>with four games to play.\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Ricky Van Asselberg<\/strong>, who led <strong>Alexandria<\/strong><strong>, LA <\/strong>to two <strong>United League <\/strong>crowns, guides the <strong>Captains, <\/strong>who had not been in the playoffs since 2006,<strong> <\/strong>while veteran major league catcher <strong>Andy Etchebarren<\/strong> is in his first full season with York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Maui<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Winning Without Fans<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Maui<\/strong>, one of the new entries this season, has built a slim lead in the <strong>South <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seamheads.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/indylogo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2992\" title=\"indylogo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seamheads.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/indylogo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a>Division <\/strong>of the <strong>Golden League <\/strong>after a 12-1 homestand, but the team is not yet drawing as Owner <strong>Michael Cummings <\/strong>know he needs if <strong>Na Koa <\/strong>is going to make it long term on the <strong>Hawaiian <\/strong>island.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The average right now is around 500 to 600 fans,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cummings told <em>The Maui News<\/em>, adding that the team professional baseball in eight years thanks to <strong>Southern  Illinois<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>of the <strong>Frontier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>The <strong>Marion<\/strong>-based <strong>Miners<\/strong> also have the best record of 2010 at 33-5, which includes at 13 1\/3-game lead in the <strong>Western Division.\u00c2\u00a0 Traverse  City, MI <\/strong>cooled the Miners off for one night, winning 11-2 Tuesday in the opener of a Miners homestand, but <strong>Mike Pinto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <\/strong>team bounced back 24 hours later, thumping the <strong>Beach Bums <\/strong>11-5 when 6,544 fans jammed their way into 4,500-seat <strong>Rent<\/strong><strong> One  Park<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong>Southern Illinois is averaging 4,348 per home game.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Oakland Athletics <\/strong>had a 20-game winning streak in 2002.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bevy of Players Selected for All-Star Games<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not everyone has the high profile of <strong>Tanner Scheppers<\/strong>, the hot 23-year-old <strong>Texas Rangers <\/strong>prospect only a year removed from pitching in the <strong>American Association (St. Paul, MN)<\/strong> who will be in the <strong>All-Star Futures Game <\/strong>in <strong>Anaheim <\/strong>July 11 <em>(MLB.TV<\/em><strong> <\/strong>and <em>ESPN2).<\/em> But Scheppers is far from being the only player with an Independent Baseball background to be chosen to take part in an affiliated All-Star contest.<\/p>\n<p>Right-hander <strong>Nate Bump<\/strong> <strong>(Camden, NJ, Atlantic League)<\/strong>, first baseman <strong>John Lindsey (New  Jersey, Can-Am League)<\/strong> and outfielder <strong>Jay Gibbons (Newark, NJ, <\/strong>and <strong>Long Island<\/strong><strong>, NY,<\/strong> Atlantic) all will be in the Triple-A All-Star Game in <strong>Allentown<\/strong><strong>, PA<\/strong>, Bump\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s home field with <strong>Lehigh<\/strong><strong> Valley<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong>First baseman <strong>Tagg Bozied (Sioux Falls, SD, <\/strong>then in the <strong>Northern League <\/strong>and now in the <strong>American Association) <\/strong>will be in the Class AA <strong>Eastern League <\/strong>contest while the <strong>Southern League <\/strong>has tabbed third baseman <strong>Corey Smith <\/strong>(Newark), infielder <strong>Mike Costanzo <\/strong>(Camden) and pitcher <strong>Austin Bibens-Dirkx (Victoria, Canada, Golden League).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hoorelbekes Sweep Northern League Awards<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesse Hoorelbeke <\/strong>has generally been the more advanced of two baseball brothers, but younger sibling <strong>Casey <\/strong>is doing his share for the family name this season in the <strong>Northern League.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Casey, <\/strong>riding a scoreless streak of 19.2 innings since June 2 for <strong>Fargo<\/strong><strong>, ND<\/strong>, is the <strong>Rawlings Pitcher of the Month<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 First baseman\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand RedHawks teammate\u00e2\u20ac\u201dJesse took Player of the Month honors.\u00c2\u00a0 Casey Hoorelbeke paces the earned run average race (1.13) after winning three of four decisions and putting up a 0.41 ERA for the month.\u00c2\u00a0 Jesse bruised league pitchers for 12 home runs in the month (he has a league-leading 14) while driving in 22 runs, scoring the same number and hitting .337.\u00c2\u00a0 Both players were with <strong>Bridgeport<\/strong><strong>, CT<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>in the <strong>Atlantic League
