the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The House That Nathan Built<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Minnesota\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Joe Nathan <\/strong>gave a gift of $500,000 to his alma mater, Stony Brook University in New York to build Joe Nathan Field.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Firsts<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Cincinnati\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Chris Dickerson<\/strong> and <strong>Adam Rosales <\/strong>became the fourth and fifth Reds players to get their first career hit this season in Tuesday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 5-1 win over the Pirates.\u00c2\u00a0 Dickerson and Rosales joined <strong>Jay Bruce<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Janish <\/strong>and <strong>Johnny Cueto <\/strong>to collect their first career hits this season.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Off to the Reyes-es<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 Jose Reyes <\/strong>of the Mets stole his 40<sup>th<\/sup> base of 2008 in Tuesday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 4-3 win over the Nationals.\u00c2\u00a0 It marked the fourth season the Reyes reached 40 steals.\u00c2\u00a0 He is the first player in Mets\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 history to steal 40 bases or more in four seasons breaking a tie with <strong>Mookie Wilson <\/strong>who stole 40 bases in three seasons with the Mets.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>According to Elias I<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Boston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Dustin Pedroia <\/strong>became the first player in Red Sox history to get five runs and five hits in the same game in Tuesday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 19-17 win over the Rangers, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Oops!<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Philadelphia\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Pat Burrell<\/strong> &#8212; often removed for defensive purposes late in the game &#8212; made his first error since September 22, 2007 in their 4-3 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a stretch of 122 games without an error for Burrell who also has 11 outfield assists this season.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Wild Inning<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>The Astros scored six runs in the sixth inning in their 6-2 win over the Giants on Wednesday.\u00c2\u00a0 They did it on just two hits, four walks (one intentional), three hit batsmen and two sacrifice flies off of <strong>Barry Zito <\/strong>and reliever <strong>Billy Sadler<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 Zito, Sadler and the Giants hit three batters in one inning for just the 35<sup>th<\/sup> time in Major League history.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Snapped I<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Seattle\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Ichiro Suzuki <\/strong>went 0-for-6 in their 10-7 win over the Angels in 12 innings on Wednesday.\u00c2\u00a0 The hitless game ended Ichiro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 17-game hitting streak.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Runs on Empty<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>The Oakland A\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s scored two runs in a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.\u00c2\u00a0 It was the 15<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive game the A\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s scored four or less runs, a team record.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Back<sup>4<\/sup><\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 Jim Thome<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Konerko<\/strong>, <strong>Alexei Ramirez<\/strong> and <strong>Juan Uribe <\/strong>of the White Sox hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back homers in the sixth inning to tie a Major League record on Thursday.\u00c2\u00a0 The quartet became the sixth foursome to accomplish the feat in Major League history.\u00c2\u00a0 The White Sox beat the Royals 9-2.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>According to Elias II<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>In the same game, <strong>Carlos Quentin <\/strong>was hit by a pitch for the sixth consecutive game by Kansas City\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Kyle Davies <\/strong>to become the only player since 1920 to get hit in six consecutive games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Snapped II<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Oakland\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Brad Ziegler <\/strong>&#8212; the first team since the Philadelphia Athletics in 1954 to have 15 players debut before September.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Extra!\u00c2\u00a0 Extra!<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>The Baltimore Orioles had 12 extra-base hits in their 16-8 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park on Sunday.\u00c2\u00a0 The 12 extra-base hits were the most by any team in the history of Comerica Park.\u00c2\u00a0 Also in the game, <strong>Melvin Mora <\/strong>went 5-for-6 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored.\u00c2\u00a0 Mora was the first Oriole since <strong>Miguel Tejada <\/strong>on June 1, 2005 to have four extra-base hits in the same game.\u00c2\u00a0 The 14 total bases by Mora was the highest this season by any player, tying Cleveland\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Kelly Shoppach <\/strong>who notched 14 total bases on July 30.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Gone Streakin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 Garret Anderson <\/strong>of the Angels was given the day off on Sunday and finished the week with a 20-game hitting streak still alive.\u00c2\u00a0 Anderson is only the third player this season and first player not on the Rangers to hit safely in 20 straight games.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Stopper<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>San Francisco\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Tim Lincecum <\/strong>went to 12-2 following a Giant loss on Sunday.\u00c2\u00a0 He also lowered his road numbers to 9-1 with a 1.88 ERA with a 7 2\/3-inning outing where he gave up one run on three hits in their 3-1 win over the Braves.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>More on Linecum<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Lincecum is 17-0 with a 3.13 ERA when the Giants support him with three or more runs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Double Up<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Toronto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Alex Rios <\/strong>went 5-for-6 with four doubles in their 15-4 win over the Red Sox on Sunday.\u00c2\u00a0 Rios became the third player in team history to hit four doubles in a game joining <strong>Shannon Stewart <\/strong>and <strong>Damaso Garcia<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 He was also the third player in Blue Jays\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 history to get five hits in a game twice joining <strong>Frank Catalanotto <\/strong>and <strong>George Bell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Could Have Been a Contender<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>Seattle\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <strong>Raul Ibanez <\/strong>had his third five-hit game of his career in their 11-8 loss to the Twins on Sunday.\u00c2\u00a0 Ibanez was often thrown around as a player with the possibility of being traded at the July 31 deadline.\u00c2\u00a0 Ibanez stayed put and is 25-for-62 (.413) with 13 extra-base hits and 20 RBI in the 15 games since the deadline.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Wild Thing<\/u><\/strong><strong>:\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong>In the same game, Seattle reliever <strong>R.A.
