both have a lot on their mind these days, and it is only partially due to the <strong>Riversharks\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 <\/strong>uphill battle to make the <strong>Atlantic League <\/strong>playoffs.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The postseason is immediate priority No. 1, but Hayes, the onetime <strong>Philadelphia Phillies <\/strong>star, also heads up a group that hopes to purchase the team, while Chiaravalloti\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time is split between trying to drive in runs and his new love, education.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seamheads.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/atlantic.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5846\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seamheads.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/atlantic.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"134\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a>While the Riversharks are nine games off the second half pace in the <strong>Liberty Division<\/strong>, they could well get into the playoffs if <strong>Southern Maryland <\/strong>and <strong>York <\/strong>both win each half of the regular season, which is a distinct possibility.\u00c2\u00a0 More on that topic later.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from guiding the current team day to day, Hayes and the group of sports-oriented Philadelphia businessmen he has put together \u00e2\u20ac\u0153are still negotiating\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, he said, with current owners <strong>Frank Boulton <\/strong>and <strong>Peter Kirk <\/strong>to buy \u00e2\u20ac\u0153maybe up to 75 per cent\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of the team.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153My goal (now is) to put out the best defensive team I can\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, Hayes explained.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I feel we now have a chance to make a run at this thing (playoffs).\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s where Chiaravalloti fits in.<\/p>\n<p>Chiaravalloti played in three games for <strong>Somerset <\/strong>as a backup until Hayes and <strong>Patriots <\/strong>boss <strong>Sparky Lyle <\/strong>struck up a discussion while exchanging lineup cards at home plate.\u00c2\u00a0 The problem for both teams is that the onetime <strong>Richmond Spiders <\/strong>player is starting his second year as Director of Admissions, psychology teacher, head swimming coach and jayvee baseball coach at <strong>Christian Brothers Academy<\/strong> in <strong>Lincroft, NJ<\/strong> and is working on a master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree in administration at <strong>Seton Hall <\/strong>and getting a teaching certification<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t expect to play this year,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d 6-foot-3 first baseman-designated hitter told this corner, even though \u00e2\u20ac\u0153my heart has always been in baseball.\u00c2\u00a0 Education is kind of my
