DULLES, Va., September 21, 2010<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c VIP Baseball, the partnership bringing professional baseball to Loudoun County, VA, is proud to introduce your Loudoun Hounds, the newest member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Hounds were introduced at a major press event featuring Hall of Fame Member and former Washington Senator slugger Harmon Killebrew, along with numerous dignitaries from across the region\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s political and sports scenes.<\/p>\n

The team name and logo reflects the equestrian traditions intrinsic in the history of Loudoun County and the wider region.\u00c2\u00a0 The team introduced the name, logo and its new team website: http:\/\/www.LoudounHounds.com<\/a> where you can sign up for season tickets, get the latest news or buy Hounds Gear.<\/p>\n

“Today, I am proud to unleash the Hounds,” announced Bob Farren, President and CEO of VIP Baseball.\u00c2\u00a0 “The Hounds will quickly become the heart and soul of the region, and we are set to establish rivalries with great teams like the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, the York Revolution and all of the Atlantic League in 2012.”<\/p>\n

Harmon Killebrew added, “The Loudoun Hounds is a fantastic name for this professional baseball team.\u00c2\u00a0 It is a fun, energetic name and it connects the team to the region in a very meaningful way.”<\/p>\n

The Hounds’ name was one of three candidates culled from nearly one thousand original submissions, and received over 60% of the public\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s vote in the Name Your Team contest.\u00c2\u00a0 Many fans submitted variations on “Hounds” during the contest, and VIP randomly selected 9-year-old Sterling resident Andrew Thede as the contest\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s winner.\u00c2\u00a0 At the event, Andrew was rewarded with two season tickets for 2012.\u00c2\u00a0 Further, he will get to present the Hounds\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 lineup card at home plate before a 2012 home ballgame.<\/p>\n

The Hounds will play their home games at a new 5,500-seat Ballpark being built at Kincora Village, located at the intersection of Routes 28 and 7 in Loudoun County.<\/p>\n

“Today is the next step in this amazing nine-year journey to bring professional baseball to Loudoun County and Northern Virginia,” concluded Farren.\u00c2\u00a0 “The excitement building in the area for the unleashing of the Hounds has been phenomenal and awe-inspiring from my perspective.\u00c2\u00a0 The Hounds will be a quality, professional organization that will make the community proud.”<\/p>\n
