Ballpark Factors Now Available!

July 1, 2008 by · 2 Comments

We’ve updated our Database section to include KJOK’s ballpark factors and Robert Bofors’ caught stealing estimates for individual players (1894-1919).

KJOK’s park factors spreadsheet includes factors for singles, doubles, triples, and homers for every park from 1956-2007, broken down for left-handed and right-handed batters. This is only the first edition. Subsequent editions will include factors for runs, strikeouts, and walks as well.

Robert’s caught stealing estimates database includes every major league player who played from 1894 to 1919, prorated stolen base totals (1894-1897), actual stolen base totals (1898-1919), and caught stealing estimates based on Bofors’ research. For more information about the research, check out Brian Joseph’s fantastic article, “How a Baseball Simmer Challenged History.”

  1. […] Here’s a site with an excel file that has split ratings for ballparks but not the actual stats. I’ll try to hunt down a place with actual stats if someone else doesn’t come up with one. Blog Archive Ballpark Factors Now Available! […]
