Seamheads T-Shirts For Sale
August 15, 2009 by Mike Lynch · Leave a Comment
Seamheads.com now has a shop where you can purchase t-shirts, baseball jerseys, coaster tiles, and mouse pads. If you’re a fan of the site, these items are a must have.
My friend Chip O’Brien, a self taught professional cartoonist, caricaturist, and illustrator with more than 30 years of experience, came up with the design. “It was a fun project to capture the ballplayers from different era’s looks, both facially and their uniforms,” said O’Brien. “Mike Lynch is the only real person caricatured in the design.”
O’Brien has been affiliated with former Red Sox second baseman and current announcer Jerry “Rem Dog” Remy’s popular “The Remy Report” web site for three years. His shirt designs for Remy’s site are among the sites most popular sellers. During his illustrious art career, O’Brien’s main claim to fame was as a successful lounge artist/comedian where he would entertain and draw caricatures of bar patrons in a fast paced comedic show. He was employed by The Palace Entertainment Complex, the East Coast’s most successful nightclub as its house caricaturist for 10 years (’87-’97).
Chip also worked as a promotions artist for both the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins entertaining and drawing fans at games and team events.

The design includes a much smaller version of me in front (I actually stand 6’3″) and proudly displays players from different eras from left to right, going from the deadball era to the era of integration from the late 1940s to the late 1950s to the more colorful but less groomed 1970s-1980s to the bulked up era that we’re familiar with today.
It’s obvious where the inspiration came from for a couple of the uniforms, but some may wonder why I, a devout and diehard Red Sox fan, am wearing blue and not the more familiar carmine-colored hose of my beloved Sox. I wanted to go old school and decided on the colors worn by the Boston Americans from 1901-1907 before they officially became the Red Sox in 1908.
