After Kansas City scores one in the top of the 1st, Wilson Redus hits a two-out, two-on home run in the bottom of the inning, giving St. Louis a 3-1 lead.

The Stars continue to hit Cooper hard, with a run in the bottom of the 2nd, and after Kansas City scores 2 in the top of the 3rd to cut the lead to 4-3, the Stars knock Cooper from the box with three more runs in their half, making the score 7-3.

Davis holds the Monarchs down until the 7th, when Kansas City scores 2 and again makes it close at 7-5. Army Cooper had relieved Andy Cooper, and kept the Stars from scoring until the bottom of the 7th, when the Stars added a run, and the bottom of the eighth, when they added their last score, making the final 8-5 St. Louis.
